Surely the county commissioners can’t believe the voters are so ignorant that they would pass a levy to build a jail when the Franklin Furnace facility is free.

The staffing and maintenance costs should be fairly similar for either, but the cost of time delay in occupation would be exorbitant. The cost of housing prisoners out of the county can only increase over-time, while utilizing the Franklin Furnace facility could be accomplished fairly quickly.

It doesn’t take a mental giant to figure the continued waste of money by ignoring the obvious.
