Connie Cade

July 6, 1950 — May 5, 2016

Connie S. Cade, 65, of Oak Hill, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her home. She was born July 6, 1950, in Pedro, to the late James and Sophia (Hutchison) Aldridge.

Connie is survived by her sons, Rickey Cade, Freddie (Gracie) Cade and Kenneth Belcher Jr. (Tara); daughters, Sandy (Wayne) Walters and Crystal (Joe) Jenkins; her significant other, Kenneth Belcher Sr.; 12 grandchildren, Kayla (Lance) Brown, Justin Walters, Austin Cade, McKinzie Cade, MyKaile (JP) Wolfe, Dustin (Chasity) Newman, Tiffany Newman, Tyler Belcher, Grace Patton, Christopher Patton Jr, Joseph Jenkins and Chelsey Jenkins; and four great-grandchildren, Addison, Ryan, and Taylor Brown and Heidi Newman; brother-in law, Sam Laughingwell; niece, Kathy Coleman; nephew, David Laughingwell; great-nephews, Smoo (Chitiy) Paulins and Jason and Todd Coleman; great-great-niece, Hailey Paulins; and her best friends, Marylan Logan, Betty Kuhn, Helen Toland, Bonnie Ratliff and Patty Jenkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Cade; sister, Joannie Laughingwell; brothers, Buddy and Harold Aldridge; mother-in-law, Reba Cade; father-in-law, Kenny Cade; and June Laughingwell. Juanita Curry

Juanita Belville Curry, 92, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Wyngate at RiversEdge, Proctorville. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Jeff Black. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington, West Virginia. Elmer VanKuren

Elmer VanKuren, 80, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Madison Park, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Steele VanKuren. A service will be at a later date. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Ronald McFann

Aug. 13, 1946—May 5, 2016

Ronald Earl McFann, 69, of Pedro, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 13, 1946, a son of Wilma Jean Cade McFann Valentine and the late Earl Roy McFann. He is also survived by his wife, Donna Akers McFann, whom he married Jan. 15, 1994.

Mr. McFann was a 1964 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a member of the Community Tabernacle Church in Coal Grove.  He was the former owner of Ronald’s Grocery in Pedro and enjoyed collecting old cars.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Hershel and Naomi Cade; and paternal grandparents, William and Maida McFann.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a sister, Connie Sanders, of Ironton; a half sister, Debbie Sommer, of Coal Grove; aunt, Linda (Fred) Hale, of South Point; uncle, Buddy (Donna) Cade, of Huntington; nephew, Gary Bridges, of Ironton; mother-in-law, Verna Akers, of Pedro; and brother-in-law, Tim (Debbie) Akers, of Ohio.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Mark Adkins and pastor Rick Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery and visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
