Ilva Mae Grieser

Ilva Mae Grieser, 92, a former resident of Pedro, went to be with her Lord, Oct. 12, 2010, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Wauseon, a daughter of the late Moses and Ida Nofzier. She married Chauncy Ervin Grieser on March 17, 1942.
Ilva and Chauncy were involved in ministry all their lives. After moving to Southern Ohio, they pastored for more than 40 years at Warneke Chapel and Wayside Chapel in Pedro. Ilva did short-term services with Mennonite Disaster Service, Mennonite Central Committee Self-Help, Habitat for Humanity and Wycliff Bible translators. She also did many other acts of kinds to anyone who was in need.
She is survived by two daughters, Hazel Shifflett of Harrisonburg, Va., and Judith (Jerry) Kelly of South Webster; two sons, Dave (Kathleen) Grieser of Wauseon and Dana (Sharon) Grieser of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Bernice Rufenacht of Archbold; and one brother, Daryl (Margaret) Nofziger of Wauseon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at Fairlawn Chapel in Archbold Graveside services will be in Pettisville Cemetery on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at West Clinton Mennonite Church at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be given to Wayside Chapel, in care of Judith Kelly, 20391 State Route 93, South Webster.
