We use St. Mary’s emergency room because they provide excellent service and are close to home. St. Mary’s emergency room is available and close by without long waiting times. We have also used the doctors and dentists located in the St. Mary’s building and have been provided with top-notch care right here in our community.

Losing Lawrence County General Hospital was such a loss to Lawrence County. St. Mary’s, the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization and the county commissioners worked hard to bring this facility to Lawrence County.

EMS is financially supported by the county. They still transport at-risk patients to Kentucky, when lives could be saved by using St. Mary’s in Ironton. A new hospital could be in the future for Lawrence County but only if the St. Mary’s facility is used.
