HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Cabell Huntington Hospital/SEIU Local 1199 employees recently donated more than $56,000 to United Way of the River Cities.

Employees and union members made a total contribution of $56,142.88, which was generated through a workplace fundraising campaign. This contribution helps the United Way move closer to its $1 million goal, which will be used to support funded partner programs in the areas of Education, Income, Health and Safety-Net Services. This means that more than 30,000 people will benefit from these services over the next year.

“I am extremely honored to work with a great organization that is dedicated to making an impact in our community,” said Tracy Teams, financial analyst at CHH. “I would like to thank the employees of Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) for helping us exceed our 2016 goal. We are very proud of our contribution.”

United Way of the River Cities is a nonprofit organization which partners with our diverse and united community to solve its greatest issues.Dollars raised throughout the year are invested in programs and strategies to get the best results for the community.

“Cabell Huntington Hospital takes the United Way campaign as seriously as anybody else we have the pleasure of working with,” said Will Holland, United Way of the River Cities’ director of resource development. “They always set an aggressive goal for themselves, and every year they work diligently until they meet that goal. I want to personally thank the hospital’s great leadership, the tremendous campaign committee, and the generous employees that made it happen.”

This contribution will help change nearly 1,900 lives in Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln and Mason counties in West Virginia and Lawrence County, Ohio.
