Man arrested in burglary cases

A 29-year-old Ironton man was arrested Tuesday and charged in a string of burglaries in the north end of Ironton.
Tyler Denney was arrested by Ironton Police and charged with one count of burglary, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of receiving stolen property.
The arrest followed an Ironton Police investigation into burglaries that happened on Dec. 28, at the 400 block of North Fifth Street, according to Ironton Police Detective Joe Ross.
“We have recovered several thousand dollars at a pawn shop in Huntington,” Ross said.
Among the items were jewelry, old coins, tools, power washers and class rings.
Denney will be arraigned today inw Ironton Municipal Court.
In another case Janie Francis appeared in Lawrence County Common Court on Wednesday. She was arrested on Dec. 31 in connection with a robbery at Dollar General Store on Dec. 30. She is charged with tampering with evidence.
“She was an employee there, but has not been charged with robbery,” Ross said. “We believe she was allegedly in on it.”
