Breakfast set for Feb. 13

The venue at the Knights of Columbus may be new, but everything else is the same as the tradition continues when the Ironton Rotary Club hosts its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 13.

The club lost its regular location at the former AEP building on South Third Street when Marco’s Pizza took over the building last year. But finding a new spot wasn’t difficult at all, according to club president Susan McComas.

“We had a couple of conversations with the Knights’ board and they welcomed us with open arms,” she said.

Something the club tried successfully last year will be done again this time, when the club sells during the breakfast long-stemmed roses.

“We sold them all,” McComas said. “It was a nice little touch. People can leave with something for their sweetheart or their mother.”

Selling the roses will be once again a partnership with Weber’s.

The menu will be pancakes, sausage and beverage for $5. Tickets are available from Rotary members and at the door.

“Tables will be set up in the main hall with cooking taking place there as well,” McComas said. “I don’t know how many years this has been going on. The community looks forward to it and we raise money for our community projects. Grab the family and make it a nice community event.”

The breakfast is from 7 a.m. to noon.
