Eva Taylor

IRONTON — Eva M. Taylor, 77, of Ironton passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at a local health care center. The Coal Grove native was born Jan. 2, 1933, the daughter of the late Lewis and Bethel Rowe Hilgenberg. She was the widow of Ernest “Jake” Taylor Jr.

Eva attended Coal Grove Schools and was a member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church in Coal Grove and lived all her life in the Ironton area.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by; one son, John Taylor; four brothers, Harry, Donald, Earl and Carl Hilgenberg; four sisters, Ruth Rowe, Wilma Ferris, Hilda Adams and Betty Lou Thornton; and one granddaughter, Michelle Lee Taylor.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Randy Ray and Beverly Taylor of Ironton; Terry Allen and Teresa Taylor of Sciotoville; William and Kitty Taylor of Wurtland, Ky.; Bryan Keith and Donna Taylor of Vinton; a daughter, Pamela Littlejohn of South Point; a brother, Albert “Ab” Hilgenberg of Ironton; two sisters, Phyllis Dornon of N.D. and Gladys Wilson of Kitts Hill, several grandchildren  and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 5, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton with Rev. Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Hilgenberg Cemetery.
