2 arraigned on drug charges

Two people were arraigned in Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Charles Cooper’s courtroom Wednesday morning on unrelated drug charges.
Cari L. Collins, 37, of 2088 Township Road 218, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to one count of trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony. Cooper set bond at $75,000 cash or surety. Pretrial was set for Jan. 6.
John F. Wright, 47, of 714 Bellefonte Princess Drive, Ashland, Kentucky, pleaded not guilty to complicity to aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony and trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, both third-degree felonies. Cooper set bond at $250,000 cash or surety. Pretrial was set for Jan. 6.
In other cases:
Thomas E. Hardy, 48, of 102 Carey Drive, Coal Grove, pleaded guilty to one fourth-degree felony count of assault on a peace officer after previously completing a mental health evaluation to stand on trial. Judge Cooper sentenced him to 10 months in prison.
Wilma J. McClain, 60, of 107 Roberts Street, South Point, appeared for sentencing for CCS violations. However, due to health issues, Judge Cooper set another sentencing date for Feb. 24, 2016.
Joseph V. Stewart, 35, of 119 Ashland Drive, South Point, pleaded not guilty to CCS violations. Judge Cooper set pretrial for Jan. 6.
