PEDRO — Everybody got into the act.
The Rock Hill Redmen had five different players score touchdowns as they blanked the South Point Pointers 48-0 on Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
The Redmen celebrated senior night by improving to 5-3 on the season and 3-2 in the OVC. They end the regular season at Fairland next Friday.
Rock Hill is currently sixth in the Division V Region 17 computer ratings and are expected to qualify for the postseason playoffs.
“We had some kids step up and make some plays. We threw the ball a little so we were able to get some balance in our offense. We played pretty well on both sides of the ball,” said Rock Hill coach Todd Knipp.
“(Quarterback) Mason Darby ran the option pretty well for us. He’s getting a lot better at it.”
Rock Hill jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead on touchdown runs by seniors Chance Blankenship and Danny Long.
Darby got a touchdown on a keeper to start the second quarter and then threw touchdown passes to Trystan Matney and Tim Adkins to make it 34-0 at the break.
Blankenship had a 9-yard touchdown run and Matney broke loose on a 65-yard gallop in the third quarter to cap the scoring.
South Point fell to 2-7 and 1-4 in the OVC.
