Deere’s 36 leads Coal Grove to 4-team victory

PINE GROVE — Nothing golfs like a Deere.
Trevor Deere shot a 36 to lead the Coal Grove Hornets to a four-team match win on Monday at the Ironton Country Club.
Deere’s nine-hole score earned him medalist honors on the day.
Coal Grove shot 167 as a team. Ryan Malone followed Deere with a 41, Alex Gillette 48 and Jed Whitworth 49.
Rock Hill had a 206 total. Jason Haywood led the Redmen with a 46, Logan Reed 48, Chase Nelson 51 and Austin Riddle 61.
South Point posted a 214 score. Eddie Chin shot a 45, Beau Taylor 46, Madison Riley 53 and Abby Kincaid 70.
St. Joseph was next at 227 led by Chase Walters with a 50 and James Carter 51. Zac McGraw had a 61 and Isaac Walters carded a 65.
The Ohio Valley Conference golf tournament will be held Friday at Shawnee Golf Course in Friendship.
