HORSHAM, PA. — Bimbo Bakeries USA has initiated a voluntary regional recall of certain bread products under the Sara Lee, Kroger, Bimbo, Nature’s Harvest, Great Value and L’Oven Fresh brands due to the possible presence of fragments of glass caused by a broken light bulb at one of its bakeries.
The recall extends to Ohio for its Bimbo 100 percent whole wheat bread with best by date of Sept. 1 and UPC Code of 7432309230.
The best by date can be found on the lower front/top third of the bag and the bakery code is to the left of the best by date. The UPC code can be found in the bottom right corner on the back/bottom of the bag.
The company announced the recall after receiving three consumer reports of small pieces of glass found on the outside of the bread. There are no reports of injury.
All recalled products are being removed from store shelves. No other products are affected.
Consumers who have purchased the product can return the product to its place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-984-0989 at any time 24 hours a day.
