Just the right place is needed, so that is why the upcoming inaugural Taste of Ironton has been postponed until a late summer or early fall date.

The event had previously been scheduled for May 9 at the AEP building on South Third Street and is designed to feature dishes from Ironton restaurants as another way to promote the city. Approximately 20 restaurants or catering firms are expected to participate.

“It takes the right location,” said Carol Allen, a member of Ironton aLive, the organization sponsoring the event. “They need a facility with refrigeration or heating.”

Currently Ironton aLive acting executive director Sam Heighton is visiting those places to determine what their needs would be and what foods they will prepare.

“We now know the questions,” Allen said. “We need to have the answers. We will have a new date.”
