Following the finance committee meeting, the Ironton City Council jumped right into the regular council meeting on Thursday evening where two ordinances and two resolutions were approved on first reading.
Ordinance 15-04, authorizing Mayor Rich Blankenship to award bids for the purchase of chemicals for 2015 was approved by the council. The council also approved Ordinance 15-06, authorizing and directing the mayor to complete an agreement with E.L. Robinson Engineering Company for all of the city’s general engineering services this year. It was the first reading of both of these ordinances.
The two resolutions approved at the meeting were Resolution 15-03, authorizing the mayor to jointly apply for a local government innovation fund grant with the Ironton City Health Department and declaring an emergency and Resolution 15-05, authorizing the approval of the contract for services agreement with the Ironton-Lawrence County Area Community Action Organization (CAO).
Ironton City Council meetings are the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
