Annual Rotary Pancake Breakfast Saturday

Start your Valentine’s Day off with some pancakes.
A tradition that started in the 1970s is still going strong as the Ironton Rotary Club has its pancake breakfast Saturday from 7 a.m.-noon at the former AEP building on South Third Street.
“It’s a tradition that has been going on close to 40 years,” Massie Schemmel, club president, said. “Last year we had almost 500 people come in or take out.”
Pancakes and sausage will be served with either milk or coffee.
Tickets are $5 at the door or can be purchased from any Rotary member.
“We use the money for various projects throughout the year,” Schemmel said. “We give a dictionary to every third grader in the county, give out nursing scholarships and donate to other organizations. All of the money is used locally.”
Roses will also be for sale at the breakfast for Valentine’s Day.
