A proposed senior citizen housing project in the eastern end has a new location and a modified new look.
On Tuesday an open house will show off the proposed plans for the Proctor’s Landing Senior Housing Project, which will now be located near the Lawrence County fairgrounds.
The open house is from 2-5:30 p.m. at the conference room at Ohio University Southern-Proctorville Center where plans will be on display.
Before the project was planned as a 50-unit complex across from Fairland East Elementary School. Now it has expanded to 56 units. It remains affordable senior housing.
The project was not granted tax credits when an application was made last year.
“We are re-applying for the tax credits,” Ralph Kline of the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization, said. “The federal home loan has been granted to the project.”
The CAO is still partnering with PIRHL developer from Cleveland on the $9.7 million project. The developer will be at the open house.
“The site is moving to across the fairgrounds upriver,” Kline said. “We are trying to do walking trails associated with it.”
