Input sought on Sam’s Way design

Businesses in the area of Sam’s Way or County Road 410 are asked for their input as the county engineer’s office starts work on improving that road’s intersection with Township Road 1012.
“We are inviting them to tell us what they want to see,” county engineer Doug Cade said. “Some ideas that would be a solution. What we don’t want to do is foul up what is working. They are there everyday. And we also want to hear from the public.”
The engineer’s office recently contracted with Strand Associates of Columbus to develop plans for a new design of the intersection to reduce the number of accidents there. In a study reviewing accidents from 2009-2011, the Walmart Way intersection had the second highest with 45 accidents.
Public hearings are currently anticipated to be held in March.
The status of the design work is a topic of today’s meeting of the Transportation Improvement District along with prioritizing other road projects for 2015.
