WILLOW WOOD — Norma Lee Callicoat Payne, 74, of Willow Wood, passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at her residence.
The Lawrence County native was born Jan.10, 1934, the daughter of the late Clifford and Mary Gladys Massie Callicoat. She is survived by her husband Floyd Earl Payne, whom she married January 8, 1951.
Mrs. Payne attended Waterloo schools and was a retired secretary for the Symmes Valley School District. Mrs. Payne was a member of the Highway Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter–in–law, Floyd Eugene “Gene” and Joyce Payne, of Waterloo; a son and daughter–in–law, Stephen Dale “Steve” and Dolly Payne, of Willow Wood; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula Sue “Polly” and John Wilson, of Willow Wood; a daughter and son–in–law, Teresa Ann and Mark Wilson, of Willow Wood; a daughter and son–in–law, Tamara Jo “Tammy” and Willie Fulks, of Scottown; a sister–in–law, Judy Callicoat, of Columbus; a sister and brother–in–law, Edna and Frank Puthoff, of Ironton; a sister and brother–in–law, Phyllis and Joseph York, of Michigan; a sister and brother–in–law, Faye and Carl Payton, of Ironton; a sister and brother–in–law, Alma Fern and Kenneth Miller, of Kitts Hill; a sister, Donna Jean Whitehead, of Willow Wood; a sister and brother–in–law, Nancy and Lowell “ Joe” Shuff, of South Point; grandchildren, Christy Richards, Eugene Payne, Brian Pancake, Shannon Payne, K.D. Payne, Jeremy Tredway, Tommy Tredway, Christopher Reynolds, Travis Wilson, Ramsey Wilson, Chad Fulks, Todd Fulks, Destiney Fulks and 12 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Payne is preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Dale Payne Jr.; a sister, Mary Watson; a brother, Paul Callicoat; an infant sister, Barbara Ann Callicoat and a brother –in–law, Homer Whithead.
Mrs. Payne’s family would like to give a special thank you to hospice caregiver, Debbie Hasenauer, and the staff at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, Ky. 41101.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Revs. Billy Payne and Mark Holderby officiating. Burial will follow in Wilgus Fairview Cemetery.
