FRANCES MAHLMEISTER

Frances Utz Mahlmeister, 88, left this world to be with her beloved family and her beloved God Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mrs. Mahlmeister was born on Nov. 19, 1919 in Flatwoods, Kentucky, daughter of the late Christian and Barbara Utz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Mahlmeister; five sisters, Betty Webb, Lorena Thorpe, Hilda Mapes, Anna and Mildred Utz and two brothers, Tobias and Jacob Utz.
She was a 1938 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton. She retired from Lawrence County General Hospital where she worked in the pharmacy. Mrs. Mahlmeister was devoted to her family and her faith.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Patricia Mahlmeister, of Ashland, Ky.; two granddaughters, Amy Mahlmeister, of Harrisburg, Penn., and Kelly Soule, and her husband, George, of Camp Hill, Penn.; one grandson, Mike Mahlmeister, of Ironton; a very special great-grandson, Michael Edward Soule; and three special neices, June Abraham of Canton, Barbara Utz of Anaheim, Calif., and Anna Utz of Flatwoods, Ky.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Hoffman and Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetary. At Mrs. Mahlmeister’s request there will be no visitation. O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
