Anna Rea Damron McGuire, 99, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at Jo Lin Health Center. She was born Oct. 5, 1909, in Boyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Charlotte Tate Damron. She was a former employee of the Chimney Corner Restaurant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas B. McGuire, a son, Claude E. McGuire; two daughters, Anna Louise McGuire and Elizabeth McGuire; five brothers; and three sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Nicholas McGuire Jr. and Charles McGuire, both of Ironton; five daughters, Clara (Jack) Rowe and Sharon (Jim) Lynd, both of Ironton, Phyllis Noles of Michigan, Lynda Carol (Tim) Miller of Florida and Teresa Jo (Jim) Malone of Versailles, Ky.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland, Ky., by Rev. Leon Dalton. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday.
