DEERING — Helen Jordan, 68, of Deering, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born Feb. 12, 1940 in Mansfield, a daughter of the late Drew Yates and Viola Sparks Yates.
She was a waitress for several restaurants in the Tri-State area, including The Grandview Inn and the Bellefonte Country Club. She was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Joe Yates and Clifford Ray Yates; a sister, Linda Lou Back; a grandchild, Amanda Jean Husky; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Salyers and Linda Darlene Yates; a niece, Victoria Lynn Vanhorn and a nephew, Rowdy Yates.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bobby Lee Jordan, of Coal Grove and David Allen Jordan and his wife, Victoria, of Blanchard, Mich.; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Husky, of Deering; a brother, Lee Edward Yates, of Coal Grove; a sister, Minnie Bell Jenson of Vermont Mill, Mich.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
