Willingness to help is crucial

Over the coming days and weeks countless civic groups, organizations, businesses and individuals are heading toward the finish to make children and families’ holidays a little brighter.
These charitable events and contributions include clothing and toy drives, dinners, bike giveaways and the Secret Santa program, to name a few.
Each of these events are worthwhile for our communities to rally around and support.
The willingness of Lawrence County residents to be involved and help others has long been a staple of our county and region. Without that support, many families and children in need throughout the county would not have the ability to have a meal on Thanksgiving or a present for a child to open on Christmas.
We applaud all of those groups, organizations and individuals along with those who volunteer and give to make someone else’s holiday season a little brighter.
While there is not enough space to list all the events going on or the groups involved, the Tribune will continue to highlight these events and provide information on how residents can contribute or get involved.
Ultimately, these types of events not only help those in need, but also allow our communities to come together and work toward a common goal.
