ROY LITTLE

Roy Little, 80, of Ironton, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., with his family at his side.
He was born Oct. 3, 1928 in Floyd County, Ky., a son of Roxy Little and Crit Little. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 101st (Big Red 1) Infantry during World War II. He was also a retired from Armco Steel where he worked for more than 30 years as a conductor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Tipton, Swanee Tipton and Vadee Hall and a brother, Henry Little.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Doris Little; whom he married Nov. 28, 1966; two sons, Robert Roy “Bob” Little and his wife, Joanna, of Ironton, and Chris Little and his wife, Linda, also of Ironton; a daughter, Marybeth Little, also of Ironton; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Russell, Ky., with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating. V.F.W. 8850 will conduct military honors. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until time of services today at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be sent to the family via www.brownfuneralchapel.com.
