SYLVIA WEISENBERGER

WOOSTER — Sylvia Irene Weisenberger, 81, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at her nieces home in Wooster, of cancer of the pancreas.
She was born July 27, 1927, in Pedro to Mahala Elizabeth Rowe Weisenberger and Harley Edward Weisenberger.
Sylvia Irene was preceded by her parents, Mahala and Harley Weisenberger of Portsmouth; one sister, Wilma Taylor of Wooster; three brothers, Howard “Bud” Weisenberger and Lawrence Weisenberger of South Webster, and Glen Weisenberger of Ironton.
She is survived by a one brother, Floyd Weisenberger of Dayton; two sisters, Inez Emerson of Dayton and Anita Gerken of Lima.
She was a nearly thirty- year employee of Williams Manufacturing Company in Portsmouth and was also employed by Portsmouth Water Works office and Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission, from which she retired. For many years she was a member of Grant and Summit Streets Church of Christ in Portsmouth. In recent years she was a member of the Church of Christ, on Gallia Pike in Wheelersburg.
She was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, where graveside services were 2 p.m. Monday with Minister Lynn Wessel and Minister Mark Williams officiating. Donations may be made to Hospice of Wooster and Portsmouth. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, is in charge of the arrangements.
