James Lee Terry, 73, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born June 30, 1935, the son of the late James A. and Dorothy Lee Donta Terry. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Colvin Terry, whom he married March 21, 1959.
Mr. Terry was a 1954 graduate of Ironton High School. He retired from Armco Steel after 33 years and was a member of the 13th Street Baptist Church in Ashland, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Grubb.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Powell of Worthington, Ky.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Michael Ferris of Huntington, W.Va.; a son-in-law, Delphus Grubb of Lexington, Ky.; a granddaughter: Michelle Grubb of Lexington; a grandson, Clark Grubb of Lexington and a brother, Stanley Terry of Ashland, Ky.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haverhill Cemetery with Pastor Bill Parker officiating. There will be no visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
