Helen Ruth Weber, 88, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009. She was born Aug. 13, 1920, the daughter of late Fred and Gladys Bagwell Waginger. She was the wife of Paul Weber, whom she married in July 1940.
Helen was a 1938 graduate of Ironton High School, a homemaker, and also owned and operated McCauley Furniture from 1964 until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, member of the Catholic Women’s Club, and President of the Sta-Tan L.O.T.A. Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Waginger.
She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her nine children: sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Pam Weber, Greg and Rita Weber, Charles Weber, and Chris and Jamisue Weber; and daughters and sons-in-law, Mary “Sis” and Jim Wipert, Cynthia “Doll” and Dean McDonald, Bonnie and David McGoron, Arlene McClellan, and Beth Weber.
Helen also had 17 grandchildren, Melissa Kellogg, Jennifer Mullens, Philip Weber, Nick Weber, Matt Weber, Mark Weber, Amanda Weber, Gretchen Cunningham, David Michael McGoron, Erin Wipert, Grayson Weber, all of Ironton, Angie Bonavita of Cincinnati, Mary Beth McDonald of Greensboro, N.C., Shawn McDonald of Knoxville, Tenn., Carrie Coenen and Sean McClellan of Rogers, Ark., Tracy Duvall of Marshall, Texas, as well as 17 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 905 South 5th Street, Ironton with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
