CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals waived second-year linebacker J.K. Schaffer as part of their moves to get down to the 75-man roster limit on Tuesday.
Schaffer grew up in Cincinnati and attended the University of Cincinnati. He suffered a concussion during the second preseason game. If he clears waivers, he’ll revert to the Bengals’ injured reserve list.
Rookie cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks also was waived with a thumb injury and will revert to the team’s injury list if he clears waivers.
In addition, the Bengals waived second-year tight end Kevin Brock, first-year receiver Jasper Collins, rookie linebacker James Davidson and first-year quarterback Matt Scott.
