PINE GROVE — There were plenty of events and plenty of winners, too.

The Ironton Country Club Ladies Nine-Hole Golf Association held its weekly outing last Tuesday and hostess Wanda Spears planned eight events.

Spears started the busy day by serving breakfast snacks at the 9 a.m. weekly business meeting. She then announced the day’s event and sent the golfers onto the course.

Following play, Spears announced the winners prior to lunch: Pat Riggs three events, Nancy Livingston two events, and Joyce Lewis, Becky Dillow and Spears one each.

Members were reminded of the Franklin Valley Invitational 18-hole tournament to be held Sept. 20.

Also, 9-Hole Classic match play began and will finish next Tuesday.

This week’s hostess will be Cecilia Woods. The brief business meeting will be at 9 a.m. followed by golf at 9:30. New members are always welcomed.
