Wade E. Miller Sr.,

Wade E. Miller Sr., 79, Waterloo community, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at his State Route 141 residence. Born Nov. 23, 1934, in Glendale Springs, N.C., he was the son of the late Mart and Belva Phillips Miller. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a former member of the Operating Engineers Union. Wade was also a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving is his wife, Jane Saunders Miller; daughter, Michelle Englehart, Ellabelle, Ga.; son, Wade (Che-hona) Miller Jr., Patriot; three grandchildren, Torrie Jade Miller, Natasha Marie Miller and Bryton Wade Miller; a great-grandson and “Pappy’s Little Man,” Landyn Wade Pearson; sisters, Edith Jarvis, South Point, Aileen LeVitre, Patriot and Teresa (Phillip) Doughman, Wilmington, N.C.; a special niece who was raised in the home as a sister, Carol Miller, Waterloo; very special friends, Tiffany and Kara McCormick, Gallipolis; two loving brothers-in-law, Wayne Saunders and Harvey Saunders, both of Patriot; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Grady and Dorothy Miller in infancy and by a brother, Harold Miller.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the McDaniel Crossroads Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be pastors Ron Henderson and David Hinson. Interment will be in the Flagsprings Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 – 9 p.m. Saturday at the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wade’s memory to the Holzer Hospice, 100 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis, OH  45631. Bret Schreiber

Bret Aaron Schreiber, 66, of Huntington, W.Va. died Aug. 2, 2014, at home.

He was survived by his wife, Julia.

A funeral service will be at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. Sunday with pastor Carl Ames officiating. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.   Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, assisted the family with arrangements.

Joan Vagnier

Joan Hope Vagnier, 87, of Westerville, died Wednesday, Aug.6, 2014, at Heartland of Westerville, Westerville. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Lynn Brown.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Duane Smith.

Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. Saturday.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
