SOUTH POINT — When longtime State Farm agent Jim Weber retired in October of 2013 it left an insurance void in the Village of South Point.
Today that void will be filled as agent Jennifer Sipple is welcomed into a new location in the village with an open house for the public. The new State Farm Insurance location is two doors down from Weber’s old firm on Solida Road.
“We are really excited for our open house,” Jamie Duncan office manager, said. “We just want to give the public a chance to come in and meet Jennifer and some of the other new employees. We just want everyone to get comfortable with each other.”
Duncan worked under Weber for 13 years and will now help Sipple transition into her role as South Point’s State Farm agent.
“I’m just helping with the transition and making sure everything goes smoothly,” Duncan said. “We are going to have several higher-ups from State Farm on hand for the open house as well as village mayor Ron West.”
The open house is from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and hot dogs and refreshments will be served.
