Candy Haugen
Candy Beth Haugen, a young, beautiful woman who waged a courageous year-long battle with cancer, joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Candy entered this world on April 16, 2001, enriching the lives of her sister Nicole and parents Carol and Wally, all of Proctorville.
Candy’s beautiful spirit, wonderful love and joy for life blessed all who knew her. Upon her diagnosis, Candy formed “Candy’s Prayer Army” to lift praise to the Lord. As president of the “Army,” Candy inspired others to lift prayers for ill children and raise funding for the Ronald McDonald House of Cincinnati, where she stayed during her initial treatment. Her leadership was contagious, and possessing wisdom beyond her years. She never took anything for granted in life. Candy excelled in the academic area and was inducted to the Fairland Middle School National Junior Honor Society on May 13. Of Candy’s many talents, her love of music added energy to her life, which she shared with others in dance.
The Lord gave Candy to us for a short time; however, her legacy will continue in our hearts and through those she touched with her sweet spirit, strength, compassion and love. The Haugen family invites all those who knew and loved Candy to join us in celebration of her wonderful life.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville and one hour prior to the service at the church. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Proctorville, where Candy accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized on April 19, 2009. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
