A man accused of breaking into and entering the Ironton City Center this weekend remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
Willard Large, 62, of Hanging Rock, was in Ironton Municipal Court on Monday where Judge O. Clark Collins placed him under a $100,000 bond, cash or surety.
Large was arrested by Ironton Police officer Chad Gue and Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Wahl early Saturday morning in the city building where he allegedly took a park bench outside the building and broke through the window to gain access.
“He used the bench to gain access to the building,” Ironton Police Captain Pam Wagner said at the time of the incident. “Once inside he proceeded to the upper floors of the building doing damage to about nine other windows, a couple of doors and some of the dry wall.
He is facing a charge of breaking and entering, a fifth degree felony.
