Kathryne E. “Katy” Holtzapfel Clark, 32, beloved wife of Todd Clark and devoted mother of Kelsi Clark, 5, and newborn Tyler Clark, for whom she gave her life, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, in Delaware, Ohio. Katy was born Sept. 28, 1976, in Ironton, the cherished daughter of George and Mary Jon Hagmann Holtzapfel.
Katy was a 1994 graduate of St. Joseph High School where she was a cheerleader, a member of the volleyball team, and salutatorian. She was also a graduate of the Ashland School of Beauty Cultures and worked at Regis Salon in Ashland, Ky. for several years. She also attended Ohio University Southern Campus, Shawnee State University and was a graduate of Mount Vernon College of the Nazarene with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Following her marriage in 1999, she had resided in Delaware, Ohio, was currently employed by Unum Insurance, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Delaware.
Katy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Betty Hagmann, paternal grandfather, George A. Holtzapfel, father-in-law Eddie Clark, and cousin, Sam Schwed.
In addition to her husband, children and parents, she is sadly missed by sisters and brothers-in-law Alicia and Jack Meck of Powell, Eileen and Scott Wilds of Pedro, Loretta and Eric Tackett of Kitts Hill, brother and sister-in-law Chris and Sherri Holtzapfel of Ironton, mother-in-law Betsy Clark, grandmother Mary E. Holtzapfel, brother-in-law Chris Clark and wife Kim, aunts Frances Hagmann and Maririta Bartee, nieces Mackenzie and Bailey Wilds, Jordan Pinson and Keerston Clark, nephew Garrett Clark, cousins Kathy and Joe Martin, Terri Baker, Travis Jewell, Brian and Megan Jewell, as well as a host of loving and special friends who, along with her family, will continue to share her legacy of love with children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
