Edna Morris, 89, of Ironton passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.  
She was born Dec. 25, 1919 in Big Sandy, Ky; the daughter of the late Andrew and Adeline Skaggs Skaggs.
She attended school in Hanging Rock and later moved to Ironton. She was a homemaker and has lived in this area since 1925.  She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lewis Morris; one infant son; Lewis Edward and three brothers, Hobart  Skaggs, Robert Skaggs and Denver Skaggs.
Edna is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol and James Kelley of South Point,  Rosalee and Lewis Clark of Deering and Shirley Lykins of South Point;  a brother, Elmer White of Ironton; four sisters, Imogene Lake of Pedro, Benona “Nancy” Osborne of Ironton, Mary Ann White of Marion and Gertrude Bundy of Marion; five grandchildren, Jaime (Judith) Kelley of South Point, Rick Clark of South Point, Tony (Millie) Lykins of Coal Grove, Angela (Mark) Holderby of Willow Wood, Jeff Lykins of South Point and four great-grandchildren, Monya and Andrew Lykins of Coal Grove, Kelley, Joshua and Caleb Holderby of Willow Wood.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens South Point with the Rev. Mark Holderby officiating.  There is no visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  The family requests that memorials be made to Community Hospice 1538 Central Avenue Ashland, Ky. 41101.
