CLARENCE THOMAS

Clarence “Pete” Thomas, 81, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Bryant Health Center.
The Ironton native was born Nov. 19, 1927, son of the late Clarence and Lillian Thomas of Ironton.
He was a former employee for Stan-Harvey Gas, and Markin’s Feed Store. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, and loved to fish, fox hunt and pitch horseshoes. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan as a medic.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Thomas of Ironton.
He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Fay and Jim Rowe of Ironton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jackie Thomas of Aarons Creek and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Brammer officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with V.F.W. Post 8850 performing military graveside rites. Friends may call at the funeral home 12:30 p.m. until time of the funeral Tuesday at the funeral home.
