XENIA —Kathleen Faith Wilson, 80, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009. The Logan, W. Va. native was born on Aug. 6, 1928 to the late Carter H. and Catherine Shrader Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. Wilson, who passed away March 5, 2007.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Wilson; two brothers, David Morrison and Carter Morrison, Jr.; and special grandparents, Tyler and Martha Lucas Morrison.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and Rio Grande University. She was a retired school teacher, former president of the Business Professional Women’s Club in Jackson, Ohio and a member of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted member of Cedarville Church of the Nazarene where she gave numerous hours, gifts, and supplies to the children.
Faith was an exceptional school teacher and is still appreciated by her students of 40 years ago. She was a very giving person and would supply some of her students with shoes and clothing and their families with food. In her later years, she became an accomplished artist and member of the Ohio Watercolor Association.
She spent her last several years living in Greene County near her family. She spent the last two years of her life with another family at the Springfield Masonic Village Alzheimer’s Unit. They genuinely cared for her with great attention and LOVE, Darla, Ranay, Janet, Lu, Lucy, Sam, Shirley, Cindy, Susan to name a few.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Elsie Jane and Steve Miller of Xenia; grandson and his wife, James Vincent Freetage and Leah of Xenia; two great granddaughters, Lesli and Celine Freetage; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Elmer Johnson of Proctorville; sisters-in-law, Betty McClure, Dolly Wilson, Flora Dailey, and many dear nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Matthew Klaiber officiating. Faith will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jimmy and her daughter, Pamela Sue in Wilgus Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
