Those unable to attend the Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade on Monday will be able to watch the event live thanks to a multi-media partnership.
Time Warner Cable along with Ohio University Southern and The Tribune are coming together to host a live streaming of the parade.
“The Memorial Day parade is so important to the history of Ironton and Lawrence County,” Don Moore, director of electronic media at OUS, said. “If you’ve moved away, or you are in the service, you can be brought home for the holiday through this broadcast. If for some reason you can’t get out because of age or disability you can watch and enjoy the festivities from the comfort of your home. That’s what this means.”
The ILC parade is the longest continually running Memorial Day Parade in the country. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. along Center Street. A link to the live broadcast will be available on the Tribune website prior to the start of the parade on Monday.
