SOUTH POINT — The Rev. Ralph Webb, 84, of South Point, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
The Ironton native was born Sept. 2, 1924, the son of the late Simeon and Hazel Fetters Webb. He is survived by his wife, June Massie Webb, whom he married Nov. 22, 1947.
Mr. Webb was a U.S. Army WWIIv and a retired inspector from the Dayton Malleable Iron Company. He attended Coal Grove Schools, was a member of the Brookdale Freewill Baptist Church and attended Sheridan Freewill Baptist Church. He grew up in the Kitts Hill area but had lived in South Point since August 1967.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Sue Harrison; his sisters, Gladys Travis, Jane Miller and Louise Webb and his brothers, Tommy Webb and Harrison Webb.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his grandsons, Steven Wayne and Amy Harrison of Franklin Furnace and Brian Travis Harrison of South Point; a great grandson, Josh Hayes of Franklin Furnace; a brother, Clyde “Joe” Webb of Deering; two sisters, Mary Delawder of Waterloo and Ruth Ann Ball of Pedro; a son-in-law, Wayne Harrison and a special pet, Buttons Leroy.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Sheridan Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
