Ro-Na marquee will soon be lit

Friends of Ironton President Rick Jansen said he has been notified the Ro-Na marquee will be put back up starting Monday, May 19.
“It will take two or three days for completion,” Jansen said in a statement. “We will have an operating marquee in time for our fireworks on May 23. After the fireworks we will relight the Ro-Na.”
The tentative schedule for Friday, May 23, is as follows:
• 7 p.m. – city celebration at the riverbank, complete with entertainment and vendors;
• 9 p.m. – fireworks will begin. The program to last 28 minutes;
• 10:30 p.m. – city celebration on Third Street in front of the Ro-Na with J.B. Miller as master of ceremonies; official lighting of the marquee to take place about
• 11 p.m. – official lighting of the marquee. “This is a great milestone for our city,” Jansen said. “Many of you have worked for years to get this facility back on its feet.”
