Murnahan recognized for 25 years of service

Ironton mayor Rich Blankenship was at the city garage on Thursday to recognize an employee for a quarter of a century of service.
Jeff Murnahan started working for the City of Ironton on May 1, 1989, as a laborer. He was promoted to refuse collector on May 3, 1993, and has remained in that position since.
“He is an extremely hard worker and he is liked by his coworkers,” Blankenship said. “We are lucky to have him working for the city.”
Blankenship presented Murnahan with a certificate of recognition and appreciation, which stated:
WHEREAS, it is with great pleasure as the Mayor of the City of Ironton, State of Ohio, to recognize outstanding achievements within our community;
WHEREAS, Jeff Murnahan was employed by the City of Ironton as a laborer on May 1, 1989;
WHEREAS, Jeff Murnahan was awarded the position of Refuse Collector on May 3, 1991;
WHEREAS, the City of Ironton recognizes his 25 years of outstanding service and appreciates the commitment he has shown toward serving the residents of this community.
WHEREAS, I, Rich Blankenship, Mayor of the City of Ironton, do hereby recognize and congratulate Jeff Murnahan for 25 years of outstanding service to the City of Ironton.
Several of Murnahan’s coworkers were on hand for the presentation as was street department superintendent Mike Pemberton.
