PROCTORVILLE — Donald L. Langdon, 82 of Proctorville, went to be with his Lord Sunday, Aug.23, 2009, from King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born Aug. 26, 1926, a son of the late Carl and Fannie Burgess Langdon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Langdon, a sister, Ernestine Adkins and two brothers Kenneth and Norman Langdon.
He was retired from Forkis Electronic in Dallas, Texas and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Joan Hughes Langdon; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Liles of Ft. Mill, S.C. and Carla McDonie Bennett of Coal Grove; two sons, Denver Langdon of Wayne, W.V., and Donald L. Langdon, II of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Savannah Gabryelle Bennett; six great grandchildren; a sister, Eloise Rone of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Earl Langdon of Missouri and Paul Langdon of Detroit, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and special friends including, Chris and Leona Sarver.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Open Door Baptist Church, 1900 Madison Avenue, Huntington, W.Va., with the Rev. Jerry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.
