Aaron Francis

Aaron Francis, 30, of South Point, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014, after a short battle with cancer and with his loving family by his side. Aaron was born May 28, 1983, in Lawrence County, son of Dianna Schwab Francis of South Point, and the late Ernest Francis Jr. Aaron was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen Francis. In addition to his mother, Aaron is also survived by his two children, Issaih Withrow of Coal Grove, and Arianna Francis of Portsmouth; one sister, Tammy (Russell) Wilson of Coal Grove; one nephew, Brandon Wilson; one brother, Eric Francis of Arkansas; grandmother, Mary (Howard) Clark of South Point; and grandfather, Bill Williams. Memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. James Leo Sites

James Leo Sites, 57 passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2014, at home with his loving family beside him. He fought a hard battle for eight months with small cell lung cancer, never giving up hope for a cure for this dreaded disease. He was born Oct. 15, 1956, in Ironton, to the late Herman Ray Sites and Kathy Coomes Nash.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Church of Lancaster. A man of great faith, his love for CHRIST was first, wife and family second, thirdly helping others. His love for the LORD was undeniable and he always enjoyed spreading the word of GOD.

Twenty-four years of love and joy was shared with his wife Vickie. He served his nation as a proud member of the United States Marine Corp for 13 years and as the saying goes, “once a Marine always a Marine” Oorah! He was an award-winning taxidermist in Ohio and an avid outdoorsman of hunting and fishing. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan through and through. Famous line of Jim’s “We got six. How about you,” when he would get negative comments.

He is survived by his wife Vickie; daughter, Tiffany Westhoven; sons, Ryan, Jon and Branden Sites; grandchildren, Michael, Adam and Nicholas Sites; brothers, David and Billy Sells; sister-in-law, Gwen (Mark) Fain; brothers-in-law, Tim and Phil Millhouse; uncles Jim (Lavetta) Sites, Ironton, and Paul (Gilda) Sites Jackson; and special friends, Mike Whitman and Gerald Mershimer; and his loyal companion Booboo, which gave him many hours of love during his sickness.

In addition to his parents, Jim (Leo) was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Helen Lambert Millhouse Raney; and father-in-law, Phil Millhouse.

Jim’s wife Vickie would like to give special thanks to Dr. Saha and her staff, the staff at the chemo fusion center, Dr. Johan Wrondle, the nurses on the 3rd& 4th floor at Fairfield Medical Center, Central Hospice of Ohio, nephew Dwayne, brothers and sisters of Good Shepherd Church, Marguerite Grimm, Melissa Horton and to the many who prayed for us each day for healing, comfort and strength.

A homecoming celebration will be at Good Shepherd Church, 700 Spring St., Lancaster, on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with officiating pastors James Dexter and Gerald Mershimer. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday at church. The Sheridan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
