HILLSBORO— Mildred E. Webb, 96, of Hillsboro, formerly of Coal Grove, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
She was born April 17, 1913 in Leatherwood, the daughter of the late William and Electa Jane Keeney.
She was a noted cook and pie baker and was employed in several restaurants in Coal Grove. She was a member of the Tri-State Baptist Temple in South Point and had been a member of the Leatherwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death on Jan. 27, 1978 by her husband Jerry Webb whom she had married on Feb. 17, 1933. Following Mr. Webb’s death she moved to Hillsboro to be near her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Faye (Joe) Thompson of Hillsboro and Fern Fisher of Sardinia; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one sister, Edna Ramsey of Huntington, W. Va.
Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Jim Beals will officiate. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Leatherwood Cemetery in Lawrence County near Ironton. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Hillsboro.
