KDHME launched the drive in November in partnership with The Dressing Room to help the underemployed get the uniforms they need at no cost.

Originally scheduled to end Dec. 31, the drive has generated 105 gently used scrub sets, 21 scrub jackets and shoes.

“We are pleased with the response, and the scrubs are still pouring in,” said Jaime Martinez, King’s Daughters Home Medical Equipment director. “Ultimately, our goal is to make it easier for people in difficult financial circumstances to be able to get the scrub uniforms they need to do the job, be successful and advance in their careers.”

All medical professionals who donate scrubs will receive an additional 10 percent off purchases, including scrubs, at the home medical equipment.

Scrubs of all types and colors are welcome. However, scrubs that are marked “Property of ….” cannot be accepted. Scrubs must be clean and in good condition, free of holes and frayed hems.

Scrubs can be dropped off at the KDHME store, 1700 Winchester Ave., Ashland. The store is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
