OUS names new marketing officer

Shelly Betz has been named marketing and public information officer for Ohio University Southern. Reporting to the school’s dean in her new role, Betz will work with faculty, staff and students to provide communication about the university as well as implementing marketing and strategic objectives.
Betz brings 25 years of experience in the areas of marketing, communications, public relations, and special event management across a broad spectrum of industries. She will work with each of the Ohio University Southern properties, including the Ironton campus, Proctorville Center, and Horse Park in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
A native of Huntington, W.Va., Betz completed her bachelor’s of arts degree in political science from West Virginia University and recently completed a mini-M.B.A. program in digital marketing at Rutgers University.
