Lee E. Yates, 67, of Ironton, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at his residence.
The Kentucky native was born June 9, 1942, the son of the late Drue and Viola Sparks Yates.
Mr. Yates attended Mansfield schools, was a member of the Moose Lodge 701 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was owner/operator of Yates Roofing and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Becky Salyers; a son, Rowdy Lee Yates; two brothers, Bob Yates and Tick “Clifford” Yates and two sisters, Linda Back and Helen Jordan.
He is survived by five daughters and their spouses, Kim Yates-Anders and her husband, Bob, Kathy Yates, Rhonda Yates and Jim Kirk all of Ironton, Amy Willis and Billy Haynes, and Angie Haynes and her husband, Jeff, all of Coal Grove; a sister, Minnie Jenson of Vermontevill, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Leatherwood Cemetery with Pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
