Homeowners who paid All Seasons of Kentucky Inc., to repair their homes have been unable to get restitution or answers as to why the work was not completed satisfactorily. Maybe Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s request will carry more weight.

DeWine’s office has filed a civil lawsuit against the Grayson, Ky.-based storm damage repair company and its key officials that include husband and wife, Leo Patrick and Carol Richard, of Manhattan, Ill., and registered agent Melissa Knipp.

Approximately 35 property owners — many of whom live within Lawrence County — filed complaints with the AG’s office alleging they were scammed out of work totalling more than $170,000. DeWine’s office has alleged multiple violations of Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act and Home Solicitation Sales Act, including failure to deliver, shoddy work and failure to give consumers proper notice of their right to cancel.

Attempts to contact the company have been unsuccessful.

The AG’s office is doing exactly what it should when it comes to protecting consumers and ensuring that contractors do what they say and that which they are paid.

No one knows exactly what occurred and this won’t be decided until it goes to court, but, thanks to the attorney general’s efforts, these homeowners are one step closer to getting answers.
