PROCTORVILLE — Fairland will host the 10th annual “Dragons Run by the River” cross country meet Saturday.

A total of 20 teams from three states are scheduled to compete in the meet. There will be a meet for the boys and the girls plus meets for junior high boys and girls.

“We will have a very competitive field again this year,” said Fairland coach Chuck Wentz.

The junior high girls’ meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. followed by the junior high boys at 10:30. A one-mile open youth run for grades 1-6 will be held prior to the girls’ high school meet at 11:10 and then the boys’ high school meet will be at 11:40.

An awards ceremony will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m.

The course is located at the Fairland Board of Education office by the Old Lock 27.
