IRONTON – Loray Maggard, 88, of Ironton, Ohio passed away Saturday August 21, 2010 in Community Hospice, Ashland, Ky. She was born February 16, 1922 in Lawrence County, Ky, daughter of the late John and Martha Spillman Blankenship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Maggard; four brothers, Hugh, William, Cecil, and Arnold Blankenship; four sisters, Irene Cooley, Pluma Wright, Easter Dilley and Pauline Fraley; and one grandson Tracy Aaron Brammer. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Coal Grove, the BTI Sunday school class, and was a former Sunday school teacher.
Loray is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda and Tracy (Dick) Brammer of Russell, Ky., and Brenda Swan of Erlanger, Ky; three grandchildren, Dr. Christopher (Deanna) Brammer of Kenova, W.Va., Chad (Kerri) Preston of Chicago, Ill., and Stacey (Jason) Dodgion of Columbus; eight great grandchildren, Trevor, Tori, Cassidy, and Cayden Brammer, Noah, Ava, and Ethan Dodgion, and Maude Preston; one sister ,Verrena Kautsky of Indianapolis, Ind; and one brother, John Blankenship Jr. of Franklin, Ohio. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday August 25, 2010 at Zoar Baptist Church Coal Grove by Rev. Jim Beals and Dr. Kevin Willis.
Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery, Coal Grove. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
