Charles Lawless

March 3, 1959-Aug. 15, 2013

Charles Daniel Lawless, 54, of Coal Grove, passed away Thursday Aug. 15, 2013, at The Ohio State University Hospital, The Ironton native was born March 3, 1959, a son of the late Charles Edward (Sweet Water) and Barbara Ann Snead Lawless.

Charles was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and was a U.S. Marine veteran. He was a self-employed carpet layer and was of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved racing and motorcycles.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Jeremy Garrison of Augusta, Ga.; daughter, Megan Lawless of Kenova, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Diane Lawless of Houston, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Ed Hobson of Louisville, Ky.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Linda Lawless of Ironton; brother, Jeff Lawless of Ironton; sister and brother-in-law; Teresa and James Paul of Ashland, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Jacob, Nathaniel and Alexander Garrison and Miley Mosley.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m until the time of the service at the funeral home. Carolyn Cremeans

Carolyn Cremeans, 55, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

Wilma Payne

Wilma McCann Payne, 72, of South Point, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. James Miller

James Ernest Miller, 81, formerly of Pedro, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in Emeritus at Chestnut Hill in New Albany. Gravesides services with military honors will be 1 p.m. Monday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, with his nephew, Paul Miller officiating. Burial will follow. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.

Mary Comeau

Mary Comeau, 93, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Church, Chesapeake. Helen (Pernell) Lawson, formerly of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at her home at Primrose Retirement Community in Lancaster.
